What is the most common reason why ordinary people who don’t have a psychological disorder wind up feeling overly sped up and struggle to calm down? My best guess? Stress from having too much on their plates, a boss or inner gremlin demanding fast service and piling on more and more work. And if you add in early childhood experiences that lead to excessive people-pleasing or hyper-responsibility then you have a real set-up for being over-revved. You’re just trying to keep up! (And fear the consequences if you don’t.)
Now there are multiple approaches for dealing with this depending on your circumstances. I’ve tried several but the one that has had the most dramatic effect on me is a formula I call “Calm Focus.” It combines Rock Rose (for panic) and Indian Pink (for the ability to focus despite multiple distractions and excessive environmental activity).
I don’t usually think of this one for myself. I work at home in a reclining chair with my laptop in my lap. My environment is usually calm. But lately my virtual environment at my day job is insane! And the more I care about doing a good job (all the time), the more insane it gets because that makes me one of the people others turn to get things done, and I forget how to set appropriate boundaries. After all, they’re all in a rush-rush-gotta-do-it now panic, too!
So I’ve been grabbing my Calm Focus unscented spray and it’s a life-saver. I spray it around my head and shoulders and then a little in my mouth. I find it helps me most when used internally AND in my aura. It is VERY grounding and instantly calming. I slow down. I can proceed and get things done without feeling like a chicken with its head cut off. I only wish one thing: that I remember to use it earlier and more often throughout the day!

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products). This is not, however, accepted medical evidence or substantiated scientific evidence from a modern allopathic point of view. I am not a medical doctor or licensed healthcare practitioner.
