Yes, you can use them together IF they are, more or less, for the same or very related purposes. For example, my ready-made formulas use more than one flower essence at the same. But if you want to try to work on more than one issue, try to avoid taking them at the same time. In that case, I sometimes take an essence for one purpose at meals and one for a different purpose in between meal times.

What would you recommend for someone who has a hard time focussing?
It depends on what’s in the way of focussing. Too much activity around you combined with anxiety? My Calm Focus formula. Feeling spacey? Try Clematis. Overwhelmed? Elm. Tired? So many choices there, depending on why you’re tired! (And, honestly, maybe you need to take time out and meditate or take a nap.) It’s not a simple question because when it comes to choosing flower essences, you always have to address how you feel emotionally. the problem stems from how you feel emotionally.

I use a number of holistic practices including acupuncture and Reiki, but I’ve never used flower essences before. Do you have any tips? I’m not sure if this is going to create any physical feelings or what to expect.
Ohhh, that such an individual thing! I’m an energy healer so I usually notice energetic effects that register in my body physically. Not everyone experiences this but if you do, it will be specific for what you need! So, for example, if you need to be more grounded, you’ll feel that first, like your energy is being brought down lower in your body. However, if what you really need is to release stuck energy, you might feel energy either centered in the chakras needing to be unblocked or moving from place to place, healing each location as it moves. This can happen over the course of several days after each flower essence use. OR not at all if either you’re not familiar with noticing energetic effects or if the correct flower essence hasn’t been chosen. Some people have emotional releases. Most people feel better! In some cases you might have dreams or have old memories come back that let you know what’s needing to be healed next.
I recommend taking the flower essence and then taking a few moments to pause and notice what it does as it can be subtle and get lost if you just jump into doing the next thing. I always take mine with a feeling of curiosity—what’s it going to do this time? (Because the same flower essence can have different effects even with the same person over time! This is fascinating stuff.) And then I take a few moments to breathe and just notice what happens. I find it quite instructive. If you notice energy in a particular area of your body, look up what chakra is associated with that area if you don’t know already. You’ll learn a lot!

I have a flower essence dosage bottle from you that I never opened. I think it might be 2-3 years old now. Is it safe to use? Do your products have an expiration date?
Thanks for asking—I prefer that my customers be cautious! I tell people that my products should be used within a month or two if they have been opened, but there is no specific expiration date for ones that have not been opened, and even ones that have been opened can last a really long time if the bottle is kept closed in cool dry conditions. Exceptions would be ones that were left open or if your tongue touched the dropper, or the bottles were in hot and humid (mold-inspiring) conditions. I have open ones for my own use that have lasted for years in my dry climate. But if you see black spots in the bottle or around the bottle opening or lid, please don’t use it

Flower essences are used to assist with mind-body-spirit interactions and individual results may vary. They are extremely dilute which makes them quite safe. But because so little physical substance can be detected in a flower essence solution, these products are presumed to work on an energetic or vibrational level—something that cannot be adequately tested by western scientific methods. Claims made by me, therefore, are based on personal experiences and the evidence of the combined multiple decades of case notes by Dr. Edward Bach as well as Healing Herbs and Flower Essence Services (the companies who make the ingredients I use in my products). This is not, however, accepted medical evidence or substantiated scientific evidence from a modern allopathic point of view. I am not a medical doctor or licensed healthcare practitioner.
