You can make thanksgiving essential oil blends to celebrate the fall holiday or anytime to support feelings of thankfulness, gratitude, and appreciation.
Essential Oils for Thanksgiving
While there are no specific thanksgiving essential oils, commonly used oils for the season include scents that are spicy (such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg), citrusy (orange, tangerine, mandarin), woody (cedarwood, balsam fir), and herbal (rosemary, basil).
Essential Oil Blend for Thankfulness
- 2 drops basil essential oil
- 3 drops rosemary essential oil
- 3 drops sage essential oil
- 4 drops lavender essential oil
- 6 drops grapefruit essential oil
Diffuse the blend or add a few drops to a bath or a massage oil.

Gingersnap Cookies Diffuser Blend
- 2 drops ginger essential oil
- 2 drops peru balsam essential oil
- 2 drops lemon essential oil
- 1 drop nutmeg essential oil
- 1 drop cinnamon bark essential oil

Stock Thanksgiving Essential Oil Blends for Diffusing
To make the following stock blends, add the essential oils to a 5-ml dark-color dropper bottle. Cap bottle and shake gently. Let sit for at least a few hours. Diffuse a few drops, according to the manufacturer’s instructions for your aromatherapy diffuser. Store the unused blend in a cool, dark place.
- 20 drops bergamot essential oil
- 10 drops grapefruit essential oil
- 10 drops cypress essential oil
- 10 drops frankincense essential oil
- 5 drops ylang ylang essential oil
- 2 drops ginger essential oil
