I woke up with the idea of having a “tea party”! My idea of a tea party is to pick a few ingredients from my treasure trove of organic tea ingredients just for fun. I was thinking of a blend of leaves, flowers, citrus, and spice. And that turned into Earl Grey with Lavender, Hibiscus, Orange Peel, and I forgot the spice. Cinnamon would have been good. But this blend was delicious without it—like a tea party in my mouth! I added a little honey and oat milk. (Hibiscus is tart so it curdles dairy milk—use a creamy alternative you like instead!) Yum, yum, yum!
Recipe:
- 3/4 part Earl Grey (or 1 part of my Earl Grey with Lavender blend)
- 1/2 part Orange Peel
- 1/4-1/3 part Hibiscus (it’s tart!)
- 1/4 part Lavender (if you used the Earl Grey with Lavender blend, no need to add more)
A part = whatever measure makes sense for your purposes.
It could be a teaspoon for an 8 oz cup of tea (so my cup would have used 1 3/4 teaspoons of the blend mixed together). Of course, I drink big mugs of tea so I actually used a tablespoon per part for a 14 oz mug. If you’re blending to have a ready-made mix for later, you could use a cup per part.
